Zoom Sunday and the orchestra’s third attempt at having a Zoom rehearsal, hosted by Ben who is best with the technology.
As well as checking we were all well, we had a useful discussion about mouthpieces.
Tim offered us the written music for ‘We’ll Meet Again’ and ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ so that we could regale our streets with music instead of clapping the NHS on Thursdays.
Bebhionn had the brilliant idea of videoing ourselves playing one of Richard’s pieces so that’s our homework for the rest of the week. The result will be posted later.
For the rest of the day we worked on Greig’s ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ for which Richard had previously sent us a digital recording.
Throughout the day Richard ran what have now become his usual 15min, one to one tutorials.
These are very useful and popular.
Also, as usual, Richard provided little extras to keep us occupied. Today’s were a list of listening suggestions. These will be posted on the Members’ page soon.
At 3:45 we all met up again in the Zoom room and played through the Grieg with Richard conducting to the backing track which was being broadcast from his house.
This seems to be the only way to get round the time lag problem.
